Ruth Lockwood

I like to create landscapes and seascapes, mainly in pastels but occasionally in oils and acrylics. My inspiration often comes whilst walking in the local woods and observing the changing colours of the seasons. In spite of living far from the coast, I derive great pleasure from painting seascapes. These are often the result of holidays spent on the North Yorkshire coast and in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. My favourite medium is pastel and my technique has evolved over the years. During this time I have experimented with different types of paper and pastels to arrive at the best combination for my work.
