Light: A User's Guide

Glyn will be giving a talk on the mechanics of light, and how that relates to painting realistically.
This talk will explain many things:

  • Why did Romans sculpt better than they could paint?

  • Why is the sky blue?

  • Why are shrimps unimpressed by television?

Understanding how light works, and how our brains frequently mislead us, can help artists to paint more convincingly.

The talk does include some science, but there will be jokes.

This will be a presentation with very many slides followed by a Q&A

This will also be the night where we paste the yellow exhibition posters. We would be grateful for volunteers.
